Black Braided Silk Sterile Non-Absorbable Surgical Suture
SG Suture Silk is indicated for skin closure, and in surgical procedures where a combination of a non-absorbable suture and long-term wound support (except where permanent retention of tensile strength is required) is required for soft tissue approximation and/or ligation.
It elicits an initial inflammatory reaction in tissue which is followed by gradual encapsulation of the suture by fibrous connective tissue. While this suture is not absorbed, progressive degradation of the proteinaceous silk fibers in vivo may result in gradual loss of the suture’s tensile strength over a period of time.
Indications for Use
- Indicated for use in soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in cardiovascular and ophthalmic tissues.
