SigmaOss™

Demineralized Allograft Bone Particulates

SigmaOss™ is an allograft that can be used alone or in combination with other grafting materials. It is intended for clinical needs including ridge augmentation, periodontal defects, sinus grafting, and extraction-site preservation.

Clinical Overview

Indications for Use

Application

Ridge augmentation, periodontal defect, sinus grafting, extraction site preservation

Safety

Made possible through the generosity of American donors whose eligibility (screening and testing) is performed in accordance with AATB standards and FDA regulations.

Versatility

Capable of being grafted alone or in combination with other grafting materials.

Capabilities

  • Cortical Type - Slow-resorbing characteristic allows for an extended period of space maintenance.
  • Cancellous Type - Ideal for defects that require rapid remodeling.
  • Corticocancellous Type - Possesses space maintenance characteristics and dense structural integrity.

Structure

  • Cortical Type - Dense structure allows for predictable maintenance of space.
  • Cancellous Type - Scaffold-like structure provides an ideal environment for vascularization and subsequent regeneration.
  • Corticocancellous Type - Combines the structure of cancellous and cortical bone in one package.

Cortical Type

The cortical type possesses an osteoinductive potential as a result of the amount of bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) that remain after processing has been completed. When used with a grafting material possessing osteoconductive properties such as InterOss®, its application is maximized through the combination of osteoinduction and osteoconduction. Its dense and highly organized structure provides structural integrity where space maintenance and volume enhancement are a priority.

Cancellous Type

The large trabecular surface area and porosity are cancellous-specific characteristics. Its granules' scaffold-like structure provides an ideal environment that promotes osteoconduction and subsequent rapid remodeling of tissue.
