InterOss® Collagen Plug is an anorganic hydroxyapatite-collagen composite designed for socket preservation and other periodontal, oral, and maxillofacial applications. It is composed of approximately 90% bovine-derived hydroxyapatite granules and 10% highly purified collagen fibers, combined and molded into a cylindrical plug form for easy placement into extraction sockets and confined defects.

The mineral component exhibits a natural cancellous bone structure analogous to human bone, providing an osteoconductive matrix that supports the migration and attachment of osteogenic cells from the surrounding viable bone. Its interconnected porosity enables the diffusion of body fluids and growth factors, facilitating bone regeneration and remodeling.

The collagen matrix enhances the cohesiveness and adaptability of the graft, allowing it to conform intimately to the defect walls and maintain space for new bone formation. This combination ensures excellent handling characteristics and predictable clinical performance in socket preservation and minor bone regeneration procedures.
